The book introduces books, to make them companions and important everyday objects for readers. An amusing picture book, it plays with the text, which requires careful attention and actions, involving turning the book around or changing one’s angle of view. The protagonists are two children with well-known names from classic fairy tales, who interact with creatures from famous stories. A fearful white whale is set next to an odd house built on chicken feet, three little pigs inhabit a barn used for threshing, while a prowling wolf lies in wait, and a king – naked, oddly enough – is thrown out of a saddle and peddles his legs. At the end of the book, all fairy tales alluded to are identified and recommended for further reading.
