There’s a tree on the horizon, but Bob the rabbit has never been there. What could be over there? Just as he’s pondering this, Hilbert arrives. Hilbert is a dog and knows what is going on over there. He has been there before. Bob is amazed. Hilbert was over there – so far away? Yes, certainly. He’s been everywhere. He’s even flown places, after all. WHAAAT?! Since when can Hilbert fly? How does he do it? Bob is so flabbergasted that he drops his carrot. Yes, Hilbert could show Bob how flying works sometime, but… now’s not the best time. With that, Hilbert takes off, leaving Bob abashed. As with his earlier books, Bárður Oskarsson reveals himself to be a master of laconic text and pictures. Sparse dialogue and cartoon-like drawings are used to craft a story worth chuckling at and reflecting on. Can Hilbert really fly – or is he just pulling Bob’s leg?
